Spa treatment...

December 18th, 2012 at 10:09 am

After work yesterday I decided I needed a facial. I deserve it, right? So, my plan was to stop at an exclusive spa and ....

OK, not really. I used sugar and some facial soap in the tiny closet we call the master bath. It was refreshing.

We often watch HGTV and marvel at how picky some of the homeowners are...they have to have a grand master bathroom. When our house was built in the late 70s, I think the master bath was just for convenience, not an in home spa. Although it would be nice to have a little larger, it is sufficient. It has a shower, stool, and sink. Plus, there's less of it to clean!

I only have basic cable now, but HGTV used to make me crazy! No wonder everyone thinks they have to have more, more, more & bigger!

The one thing I hate about our home is the grand master bath! It's ridiculous, and mostly un-used. (The trade-off is smaller bedrooms in the rest of the house, which I find kind of obnoxious). But, we lucked out because the rest of the house is a little more old-fashioned. When looking at new homes, think this was the only one that we liked - had more logic to it. Granted, we have a large kitchen, but we USE that, and it's not "ridiculous." We looked at so many crazy GIANT kitchens also. Which is extra ironic to me because I don't know anyone who particularly cooks. People cook less and less, but need bigger and bigger kitchens.

I always laugh at the HGTV shows where people talk about wanting a big, grand kitchen with ALL the trimings...stainless steel, granite ect....and then to go on to say they never cook or don't know how to....too funny......they are all about putting on a show for others. Granted, we do have stainless and quartz counter tops, but that was only after living in our house for over 10 years we did a remodel....we also do not have a huge kitchen.....and I do cook Smile
