Out ill

January 22nd, 2012 at 04:34 am

The past seven days have been tough. We went out to eat last Saturday night. My food was cold. I sent it back and apparently it was reheated. It didn't taste right. I didn't finish it, but apparently ate enough because come Sunday I was very ill with food poisoning.

I contacted the owner who said it couldn't be. Uh huh. My body would disagree.

I was out of work three days and Monday was a holiday so I missed a lot of time.

I was thinking that restaurant owners need to realize how much faith customers have them when they walk through their doors. We trust them to be clean and fair and not put us at risk.

So, right now my trust has shattered.

I would be reporting them to your state health on food control or people who licence the restaurants in your state.

I don't know what you call it there. Here we have a City council number we can phone and they will put you on to the right department or give you a phone number to phone if they don't a department to deal with it. You have to with size of our local city council. Around 300 suburbs.

You might want to report this to your doctor. 1 week is pretty serious. Did you go to the emergency room at all - they report stuff like this to the CDC.

I would report it too. Sick for an hour is one thing, sick for days is quite another.

I am so sorry to hear this. My dh got food poisoning when we were in New Orleans and he was very sick for days. Hope you are feeling better now.

We are living in SE Europe at the moment and have had food poisoning a NUMBER of times... what I wouldn't give for a good, American public health department! Definitely report the restaurant, and you will have some insurance of follow-up from authorities. The only bad thing is that it's been a week so it will be harder to prove. Nonetheless, they may be able to put the dots together enough to lead to an inspection. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I hope you are feeling better now. I've had food poisoning a few times. One was really nasty case of salmonella that dropped me like a rock for days. I wasn't allowed into work (not that I could have moved from my bed) because I was a cook then. Always report suspected food poisoning. Some cases kill people.
