New School Year

July 20th, 2010 at 12:43 am

There's something about the back to school sales that put me in the back to school frame of mind.

Fortunately I don't need to buy notebooks and pens and paper, but I need to gear up and think about what I'm going this year.

My job has changed and I'm delighted. I will be working with a lot of data. Hopefully my work with data and sharing it with staff will help them.

Sometimes we are data rich and although it sounds like a good thing, but if the data doesn't tell us anything, it's like eating too many candy bars. They were good at first, but boy, what a silly thing to do!

I am getting excited and thrilled as the school year approaches! It's like a New Year with all kinds of hopes and dreams!

While my kids don't agree, I always loved going back to school as a kid. Shopping for supplies, organizing my backpack and locker. The smell of paperbacks and sharpened pencils. I loved it.

I still love back to school, even if my kids are less than thrilled. I have always had a thing for office supplies.

Here the school year starts in the New Year. I too loved shopping for new school supplies. I think I might go a little crazy and get some cool stationery supplies from Smiggle if I get accepted into uni. Not entirely neccesary... I know... Big Grin

Frugal Foodie, when you start again? I go back on September 1st, but then again we were not done until June 21st.

NJDebbie...August 18th is the actual start date for every school but one in our district which is a year round school. I will be between 4 schools this year, including the year round one and teachers start this Friday at the year round so that's when I start.

    Whitestripe...hope you get good news!
